Open letter – With thanks

Sadly 2020 has not turned out the way that many of us expected, and the last few weeks have been challenging for many and affected all of us in so many ways, which none of us expected even a few months ago.

We are touched by the acts of kindness that we see in what is now our everyday life, people going out of their way to help others, and of course all the front line workers who are keeping us functioning in this difficult time, but not only them the little things that we see, people checking in on their neighbours, delivering food and supplies, the numerous offers of support to keep the children learning, the gyms that are offering online coaching, the people giving their time to create online groups focusing on gardening and baking and the numberours rainbows in windows to give the children something more to look at when they are out on their daily walks, it feels like we live in a community again.

We have been humbled by the support from our crews and our instructors both past and present we think of you all as friends of Go West and though it has been a difficult time we have been blown away by the support that has been given, so many acts of kindness and kind words both directly and though social media. It was inspiring and refreshing to see so much concern and care for our business and for our family. We would like to thank you from the bottom of our heart.

Like many we are adjusting to the new norm, our boys are not at work and school and they are looking after their young brother and doing some school work, playing football and the living room has even become a home gym! The family dog Kevin is delighted that we are fighting over who walks him although I think he might like a rest. Danny has been out and about delivering food and medical supplies for Fairs for Free who is a charity that helps veterans with isolation, they have lots of additional work due to the number of them who are now staying at home, it’s nice to have the time to give something back.

Apart from volunteering for charity Danny has been working on the route for Global Surveyor for later in the season. We believe that Global Surveyor will be the icing on the cake, we can’t wait to see her in action after all the refurbishments and improvements have been completed. She is certainly looking the part!

We offer a full range of online courses, from RYA Day Skipper to RYA Marine Radio and many more, it’s a great time to do some self study and brush up on theory knowledge! We are still taking calls and emails about bookings for later in the year, if you are interested in one of our adventures or RYA courses please do get in touch and we can help. If we are not able to run a course we will transfer the money paid to another date that is suitable.

We would like to stay in touch with you, please give us a like on Facebook and sign up for our Newsletter, we often have discounts on both.

We wish you and your loved ones all the very best over the coming period and hope to see you on the water soon!

Victoria and Danny
