The Routes

Sail onboard yacht Clipperton from Oban to the Hebridean island of Barra and then shortly after arrival, fly back (just over 1 hr duration) from Barra's beach runway, the only tidal dependent air-service in the world, to Glasgow and then a short journey back to Oban to complete an exciting round-trip adventure over 7 days!  Alternatively, you can choose another route, and fly to Barra and then sail back to Largs.  And that's not all.  Between Oban, Largs and Barra, there are many of Scotland's most famous coastal landmarks and attractions that could be visited or passed by, depending on the weather and tides.  View Ailsa Craig on the horizon, pass the stunning Mull of Kintyre and Paps of Jura and visit the beautiful island of Gigha.  Depending on the tide, you will either pass by or transit through the awesome Gulf of Corryvrechan, with its infamous whirlpool.  Iona's Abbey and the remote island of Staffa with Fingals Cave and the adorable puffins are on the route.  Other sea life abounds in this wonderful area.  The remote harbours of Gometra and Ulva await.  Other places in this excellent cruising ground include the harbours of Oban, Lochaline and Tobermory.  The Small Isles and the Shiant Isles could be visited.  Not all of these places can be reached in the 7 day adventure, but it's a wonderful list for the skipper and crew to choose from, weather depending.

Weather depending, the routes will each include at least one 60 mile RYA Yachtmaster qualifying passage.
